Materials You'll Actually Open More Than Once

Look, we know you've downloaded financial guides before that you never touched again. So did we. That's why everything here is designed to be used, not just read.

Each resource comes from a real question or problem we've seen people struggle with. The budget tracker? That came from watching someone manage expenses in a notebook and wishing they had something better. The home deposit calculator? Built after the fifth time someone asked us "how long will this actually take?"

  • All templates work in Google Sheets and Excel, whichever you prefer
  • Guides written in plain language without finance jargon
  • Everything's designed for Australian tax rates and cost of living
  • Step-by-step instructions that assume you're starting from scratch

How We Build These Resources

Here's the thing about financial education materials - most of them are written by people who already understand money. We try to remember what it was like before we knew this stuff.

1

Start With Real Problems

Every resource begins with something we've heard people struggling with. Not hypothetical scenarios from textbooks. Actual conversations where someone said "I wish there was a way to..."

2

Test With Regular People

Before anything goes live, we hand it to friends, family, and community members. If they get confused, we rewrite it. If they don't use it, we figure out why and fix that.

3

Update Based on Feedback

People tell us when something doesn't work or could be better. We actually listen and update the materials. You'll notice version numbers and "last updated" dates on everything.

4

Keep Everything Current

Tax rates change. Interest rates move. Cost of living shifts. We review everything quarterly to make sure the numbers and advice still reflect reality in Australia right now.

Who Creates These Materials

The people behind these resources have spent years working with Australian households on their finances. More importantly, they remember what it felt like to be confused about money.

Callum Thorpe, Financial Education Specialist

Callum Thorpe

Content Development Lead

Callum spent eight years as a high school maths teacher before moving into financial education. He's the reason our materials avoid unnecessarily complex formulas and focus on what actually matters to people trying to save money.

Sienna Viklund, Resource Designer

Sienna Viklund

Educational Resource Designer

Sienna designs the worksheets and calculators you'll actually want to use. She previously worked in UX design for banking apps, which explains why everything she creates feels intuitive rather than intimidating.

Start With the Materials That Match Where You're At

Our learning program, starting September 2025, will guide you through these resources in an order that makes sense. But you can also explore on your own and use whatever helps right now.
